⚡ Certified EEG Neurofeedback Provider — Change Your Brain Today
One-on-one, evidence-based cognitive therapies — delivered with personal attention by a licensed professional — for children and adults of all ages.
Physical therapy for the brain. NILD targets the neurological roots of learning difficulty — building teachability rather than patching fact gaps. Students emerge as confident, competent, independent learners.
A pencil-to-paper cognitive enrichment system that scaffolds and organizes thinking to build — or restore — cognitive function. Feuerstein equips thinkers to learn, reason, and problem-solve at a higher level.
EEG-based brain training that helps the brain function more efficiently. We observe the brain in real time and reflect its activity back to the person — allowing it to self-regulate and self-optimize.
Susan's passion for pairing individuals with their potential began close to home — with her determination to help a young family member overcome a serious learning obstacle. She didn't stop until she had found every available protocol for harnessing brain plasticity and restoring her loved one to their full potential.
Witnessing Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment firsthand, she made a commitment: if it worked, she would dedicate her life to it. It did — and she has never looked back.
Holding an MBA from the University of San Diego, Susan redirected her career entirely toward healing — compressing five years of hard-won trial and error into a streamlined program capable of delivering powerful, lasting results in six months to two years, depending on what needs to be overcome.
Today she is a Professionally Certified Educational Therapist (PCET) through the National Institute of Learning Development, a fully certified Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment therapist, and a certified Othmer Method EEG Institute Neurofeedback provider. Together these tools allow her to address the brain at every level — from its deepest centers to its highest conscious and academic functions.
A mom of three thriving children, Susan believes the journey to potential should be joyful — and she works hard to make it so. Having lost her father to Alzheimer's, she also carries a deep commitment to preserving independence and quality of life for aging adults. Whether her client is five or seventy-five, she believes the same truth: any brain can change.
Susan Addams was kind, empathetic, and truly invested in our daughter's well-being. She listens attentively, demonstrates a true respect for our daughter, and conveys a hopefulness and optimism that is refreshing after so many roadblocks. Susan Addams is a ray of light and hope!
Couldn't be happier with the progress our son is making with ADHD symptom relief. He's more confident, more attentive, and really loves going to therapy with Susan. Her excitement for her field and nurturing, fun attitude is the perfect mix for positive outcomes!
My daughter has ASD/PDA/SPD/OCD. No meds or therapy worked. After a few months of neurofeedback with Susan, we have a little girl who can dress herself, brush her teeth, leave the house, and attend classes! She says I love you to us. We can't wait to see what else she can do!
My son suffered a serious traumatic brain injury. I was blown away by how well established and proven these therapies work together to help re-wire his brain around his injuries. His processing capacity and speed has greatly improved. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!
I enrolled to combat ADHD, OCD, depression, an auditory processing disorder, and dyslexia—without drugs. Think Therapy's ability to fully engage my brain resulted in greatly reducing the hindrances of my mental issues through a personally tailored approach.
Every treatment plan is individualized and targeted — built from client feedback, IEP reports, and neuropsychologist findings. Every brain is unique. Your plan will be too.

A paradigm shift is moving through hearts and minds. The brain is now understood as a 'modifiable cognitive network' — one that can genuinely change.
Labels are names for rough symptom clusters. They are often poor fits — and they can become self-fulfilling. At THINK!, we challenge the habit of resigning into them.
We believe in miracles. We also know they are hard work.

Susan shares this documentary because she believes the paradigm shift it describes is the foundation of everything THINK! does. Before beginning the journey, watch it. Then dare to hope.
The brain does not simply decline with age — and it is never beyond reach after injury. At THINK!, we apply the same powerful neuroplasticity-based tools we use with children to help adults preserve, protect, and in many cases recover their cognitive abilities. You are not at the mercy of time or circumstance.
Brain injury — whether from accident, stroke, surgery, illness, or chronic trauma — can feel like a life sentence. It doesn't have to be. Neuroplasticity means the brain retains the ability to form new pathways around damage, and THINK!'s tools are specifically designed to stimulate that process.
Susan has worked with adults recovering from serious TBI, strokes, and post-surgical cognitive changes — and has seen remarkable recoveries that standard care said weren't possible.
Every brain injury is different. Susan will personally review your situation and explain what's possible before you commit to anything.
Call (858) 883-9000 →NILD, Feuerstein, and Othmer Neurofeedback all target the brain's underlying processing systems — not just surface symptoms. Together they can help the brain rebuild pathways around areas of damage, restore processing speed, and reconnect cognitive centers that have been disrupted by injury.
Whether you are navigating the early signs of cognitive decline, noticing that your thinking isn't as sharp as it once was, or simply wanting to stay ahead of the aging curve — there is real, evidence-based help available.
We see adults every day who have been told to wait and watch. We offer a different path: targeted, individualized cognitive therapy that meets you where you are and works toward where you want to be.
We see adult clients at our Encinitas and San Marcos offices. Consultations are personal, unhurried, and tailored to your situation.
Call (858) 883-9000 →Thank you for inquiring about THINK! educational therapy. THINK! brings together three scientifically proven methods to awaken a student's brain: Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment (FIE), the National Institute for Learning Development (NILD), and Integrated Listening Systems (iLs). These complementary approaches jump-start information processing, integrate the brain's various centers, and set students on the path to becoming independent, lifelong learners.
What makes THINK! different from tutoring or other learning programs is that we use FIE's "power tools" and NILD's "interactive language and dynamic intervention" to develop both core academic skills and higher-order processing. This happens through explicit instruction, Socratic questioning, guided practice, systematic feedback, and the cultivation of self-regulation and transfer. Our program is grounded in decades of research across education and psychology. Put simply: our tools can rewire brains.
Here's how it works:
We target a student's areas of struggle based upon analysis of IEP reports. The therapist loads each session with NILD educational therapy exercises that work out the areas of neurological weakness — physical therapy for the brain. The student is facilitated through NILD tasks until new brain pathways develop. While most kids learn by absorbing intuitively, many challenged learners do not. But challenged kids can learn too if gently taught "how to think." This works brilliantly when kids are engaged consistently over time.
We work face-to-face building rapport and connection. The therapist introduces and models how to perform an FIE task such as "Organization of Dots" or analyzing one's "Orientation in Space." They associate what the child is learning to real life with analogy and labels (bridging). The child is prompted to talk about what they are thinking as they work (meta-cognition). By doing this, the therapist is purposefully triggering dozens of cognitive pathways, and the whole brain "lights up." Neurons that fire together, wire together — and the brain changes.
The Polyvagal Theory — that the vagal nerve system interconnects the middle ear and the freeze/flight/fight response — is widely accepted in science today. The iLs Safe and Sound Protocol helps soothe and strengthen this system, restoring a sense of safety and opening the student to focus and learn. The FOCUS program helps reorganize the brain with music digitally modified to stimulate certain brain areas, improving brain-body coordination and organization.
At THINK! we draw on these and other tools as needed to accelerate each student's progress. Intelligence is not fixed — it is modifiable. Through research-backed therapies that harness brain plasticity and center on human connection, we will help your child reach their full potential. And they will have fun doing it.

THINK!'s tools aren't only for those facing obstacles. Many of our clients come to us because they are already strong performers who want to go further. Neurofeedback and Feuerstein Instrumental Enrichment are extraordinarily powerful for optimizing a brain that is already functioning well.
Students looking to sharpen focus, accelerate processing speed, and perform at their ceiling — not just their floor.
Professionals and executives seeking clearer thinking, faster decision-making, and sustained mental stamina.
Athletes using Neurofeedback and FIE to sharpen reaction time, mental composure, focus under pressure, and competitive performance.
These are the stories that drive everything we do — written by students, parents, and families about what it truly feels like to find your footing, discover your potential, and stop being defined by a diagnosis. Every name here is a real person who did real, hard work. We are honored to share their journeys.
"We started iLs therapy about 3 months after our daughter's OCD, anxiety, and sensory processing disorder resulted in Tourette's, self-harm, and depression. After a 5-day session of iLs Safe & Sound, she started making eye contact, began laughing with her siblings again, gave us spontaneous hugs, and seemed less defensive. Her teachers said she participated more in class. We will forever be grateful. Susan Addams is a ray of light and hope."
"After seeing Susan for just a few short months, I am amazed at how Stazi has blossomed — not only in his personality, but in his emotional well-being AND his cognitive re-development. The speed at which Stazi has improved has been amazing, truly unexpected, and highly encouraging. I am more excited about Stazi's potential and future than I ever thought possible. My gratitude is boundless… from the bottom of my heart, thank you Susan."
"Susan Addams at Think! Therapy Center is awesome! We sought educational therapy vs. medication and are so very happy we did. Our son is thriving."
Wendy wrote to Susan by hand to share what the SSP (Safe and Sound Protocol) had done for her nervous system — sleeping more soundly, improved digestion, better hearing, less stiffness, and a pervasive feeling of relaxation. Her closing line: "I don't know why everyone isn't doing this!"
Danny's letter — "Lessons Learned" — is a deeply personal account of his experience with Feuerstein therapy. His mother's story of finding Professor Feuerstein, published in the Jerusalem Post, is one of the most moving accounts of this method's transformative power ever written. Danny, who had autism, uttered his first complete original sentence in years when he met the Professor.
Noah, a young child with Down syndrome, arrived at the Feuerstein Institute nearly nonverbal and aggressively acting out. After six weeks of intensive Feuerstein therapy, he "woke up" — began seeing the world around him, started mainstream school with aide support, and thrived. His mother Limor's letter to the Feuerstein Institute staff is extraordinarily moving.
"Noam is thriving: he is talking more, understanding more, and is growing into an amazing young boy who continues to inspire us." — Limor, Naish & Noam
Written by Rebetzen Lauren Levin as an open letter to her children following the passing of Professor Reuven Feuerstein, Rachel's story is a tribute to what belief in human potential can do. Professor Feuerstein told her family to "prepare for her wedding" — a marker of independence he believed was attainable. His passion and belief dance on in their family to this day.
"The professor taught us never to say 'I can't' — but rather, 'how can I?'" — Lauren Levin
